Risk Based Registration Update

4/28/15

1. The effective date for the deactivation of the Interchange Authority (IA) and Purchasing Selling Entity (PSE) functions across the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) is retroactive to March 19, 2015. NPCC has initiated all of the IA and PSE deactivations with NERC. In the coming days, all NPCC entities currently registered as an IA or PSE will receive a letter from NERC that removes their IA and PSE obligations retroactive to March 19, 2015. At this time, there is no further action required from an entity currently registered as an IA or PSE.

2. Distribution Providers (DP) with a peak load less than 75 MW should review Section III (b) on page 8 of Appendix 5B of the NERC Rules of Procedure – Statement of Compliance Registry Criteria to determine if they are eligible for an adjustment of their DP registration to a “UFLS Only DP” or to have the DP function deactivated entirely. NERC Rules of Procedure

Registration change requests associated with the DP function should be sent to registration@npcc.org and should include the completed “NPCC Entity Functional Deactivation/Adjustment Form” which is located on the NPCC website under the Registration tab. NPCC Registration Page

NPCC will provide further updates on Risk Based Registration as it becomes available.
